• 10/2025   Belkys and Wen participated in the CSChE 2025 conference and presented their work.

• 08/2025    Our lab warmly welcomed the third Morocco friend of this month: Prof. Abdessamad Belgada from University Mohammed VI Polytechnic (UM6P) as visitor. Prof Belgada is a old friend to us, he generously delivered two presentations: Desalination and Water Management – Moroccan Case Study and Development of Low-Cost Ceramic Membranes from Abundant Geomaterials. Everyone enjoyed a lot! I received email from two students, saying that they were inspired by his presentation!!!

• 08/2025    Our lab warmly welcomed the visitor, Prof. Saad Alami Younssi, he leads the Laboratory of Materials, Membranes and Environment (L2ME) at Université Hassan II de Casablanca (UH2C) in Morocco. He visited the lab of our department, our lab, and also labs in CTA and 3IT with help of Prof M. Désilet and Prof. N. Braidy. 

• 08/2025    Our summer group activity: hiking in Mont Orford!!! Work hard, play harder, and keep healthy!

• 07/2025    Wen visited the lab of Dr. R. Rajagopal (Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada, co-supervisor of Resmi). It is a great lab regarding anaerobic digestion. We will have a fruitful collaboration!

• 07/2025    Our lab warmly welcomed the visitor, Prof. Mounia EI Haji from Université Hassan II de Casablanca (UH2C, Morocco). In our lab, each member presented our work to her. She also had project meeting with the SODA (solar energy powered desalination) team, in which Ibrahim and Wen are the members, to talk about the progress of the project and possible future collaboration. We also visited one best restaurant marocain here in Sherbrooke. 

• 07/2025    Oumaima presented her work on natural collagulant enhanced electrocoagulation in the conference of PEOPLE 2025.

• 05/2025    Oumaima and Wen presented the work of electroactive membrane in the  ACFAS symposium sur les matériaux fonctionnels pour le développement durable (CQMF), Montreal, QC, Canada.

• 05/2025    Resmi joined the group as a Ph.D. student, she will be co-supervised with Dr. Rajinikanth Rajagopal (AAFC) welcome!

• 04/2025    We had one of our group meeting as a badminton competition. We have two winners!

• 03/2025    Ibrahim gave a poster presentation at the scientific evening of the Faculty of Engineering at                       UdeS, "Genius". He won the third prize. Congratulations!

• 02/2025    Belkys joined the group as an exchanging Ph.D. student, welcome! She is co-supervised with                     Prof. Jean-Michel Lavoie

• 12/2024    We had a farewell party to Youssouf. All best wishes!

• 12/2024    Youssouf and Ibrahim successfully passed the DPR exam.

• 11/2024    We presented our group in MégaRecherche of UdeS.

• 07/2024    We visited the wastewater treatment plant of Sherbrooke city.

• 05/2024    Wen gave a talk in 27th Canadian Symposium on Catalysis (Sherbrooke, QC)

• 05/2024    We completed a group meeting: summit to Mont Orford to welcome spring!!

• 05/2024    Youssouf was awarded the doctoral excellence scholarship at UdeS, congratulations!

• 05/2024    Mayara joined the group as an exchanging student for 4 months. She holds the scholarship of                    Brazilian exchanging program.

• 04/2024    We received the NSERC Discovery Grants (2024-2029).

• 01/2024    Youssouf joined the group as an exchanging Ph.D. exchanging student. He is co-supervised with                 Prof. Martin Désilets.

• 01/2024    Ibrahim joined the group as a Ph.D. student. He is co-supervised with Prof. Nadi Braidy. 

• 01/2024    Wen Ma joined the Department of Chemical and Biotechnology Engineering at the University of                  Sherbrooke as an assistant professor.
